"Building community ... working together."
A special thanks to everyone who volunteered and came this morning to help us clear out the honey suckle and brush along the creek that flows through Glenview Park, a park that is directly across from Holton Park and Rec Center off North Eureka Avenue at Glenview Avenue. This is a part of our relationship with Columbus Recreation and Parks CERP Program that works with civic associations across the city to improve our parks and waterways. Glenview Park is one of the gems of Highland West and it's time we brought it back to its former glory as a part of our northeastern neighborhood, Glenview Heights, platted in 1910. Our bike trail "Sullivant's Trace" begins on N. Eureka Avenue, travels through this park and the State Lands, eventually ending in Rhodes Park. The greater visibility will remove hiding places that currently exist and provide for a much more beautiful and safe park for our residents. Upcoming are City plans to install a wooden fence along Glenview Avenue to prevent people from driving in the park. We hope to also have picnic tables installed under various trees so our residents can again begin to use it for family celebrations and neighborhood festivals. The NEXT CLEAN UP DATE is August 20, 2016, 9:00 AM - Noon. Please plan now to join us as we take back another neighborhood park, as we continue to re-create our community. All are welcome! Come and be a part of the change!
