"Building community ... working together."
The time has come for the City to collect our thoughts on the new proposed rec center for Glenwood Park. It is essential that all residents attend this meeting to share what you would like your new center and park to be, as the current one still in use is the original one built in 1916 and needs a bit of updating! It is especially important for those of you who grew up in and around this park be there to make sure the wonderful place you remember growing up is still there to pass on down to our children for them and future generations to enjoy. The park and rec center have fallen on some very bad times over the past 15 years and this is OUR OPPORTUNITY to make it the great place that it was, once again! ATTACHED IS A SURVEY they just gave us for residents to fill out ... please fill it out whether or not you use the Rec Center and whether or not you have children. Parts of the survey talk about "activity areas" such as picnic shelters with tables the like. A park is more than just a rec center, but a place for the whole family to enjoy, including single adults. Healthy communities have healthy parks and we all know Glenwood is not exactly "healthy" and has not been so for a while, but it's the only park we have east of Hague Avenue, between Broad Street and Sullivant Avenue, an area where almost 10,000 people live. SO PLEASE click on the survey link below and fill out the survey and bring it with you to the meeting on Thursday evening at Glenwood, leaving blank what you either can't answer or that which might not apply to you. IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND, please scan it and email it back to us and we will take it to the meeting for you, email@example.com or email it to Geoffrey Phillips, GHAC Chair of Parks and Recreation at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you wish, you can also quickly mail it to: HWNA, P.O. Box 44106, Columbus, OH 43204. The future of your park depends upon you and now is the time to make your voice heard.
